There's a “thunk” a few seconds after I plug in
Normal. Power passed the safety check and is now going to the RV.
That’s normal. The unit checks the power first, and if it’s safe, an internal switch (the contactor) closes and sends power to the RV. A white dog face means all good.
You’ll also hear it when you unplug the Watchdog, or when it cuts power during a fault. It works like a circuit breaker, so it never sends power to your RV without checking first.
